Warnborough College (Ireland) ran a series of webinars and presentations over the 17th and 18th October, 2024. The events were put on as part of Erasmus+ Days, an initiative launched by the European Union in celebration of its Erasmus+ programme.

Over the 2 days, WCI and its partners managed to present information about its Erasmus+ projects and related initiatives in the spirit of sharing, learning and co-creating knowledge. Attendees logged in from countries as diverse as Albania, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Kenya, Malaysia, Pakistan, Romania, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Day 1, 17 October 2024

Dr Pamela Hatton, the Secretary of the Warnborough Council, provided valiant emcee services despite being ill. The first presentation was from the DEVISE4KE team, talking about the ERASMUS+ funded project in Kenya where consortium partners help rural area schools to generate power through photovoltaic sources. Phase 2 of the project will begin soon where the schools will be given low-energy devices in order to teach students and staff necessary ICT skills. The event was led by Vivian Harberts, the project coordinator from the University of Bremen.

The second presentation was a nod to our SensEd project. Siauw Wen-Ti & Jennifer Sor Hui Min from The Learning Kingdom Education team in Malaysia demonstrated the importance of ‘Sensory Integration and Brain Development: Foundations for Early Childhood Learning’.

This segued nicely into the third presentation by Dr Hatton, which looked at ‘Sensory Skills in Student Teacher Education: Crossing Boundaries with Dance’.

Day 2, 18 October 2024

On the second day of Erasmus+ Days, the BuildingVids consortium took to the virtual stage to present on their project, which looks at making architectural learning simple and career-oriented through the use of interactive tools and videos.

The architectural theme continued through to our learning centre, MTTC College, which presented on “Fostering Connections Through Diversity via BIM”. Building Information Modelling (BIM) was the focus on our Erasmus+ funded project, BIM 4 Education.

The theme continued with Interior Design with our learning centre in Pakistan, STEP-IADM, clearly demonstrating “The Impact of Cultural Diversity and Sustainability on Vocational Interior Design Education”.

The spirit of ERASMUS+ is very much in line with Warnborough’s philosophy, proving that knowledge and learning have no boundaries. Together with our worldwide centres and students, we can truly cross boundaries and widen horizons.
