About the Project
Warnborough College UK is leading an ERASMUS+ sponsored project entitled “Transversal BIM Knowledge in Higher Education”. BIM stands for Building Information Modelling, and is an expression of new technologies. The project looks at how we can include BIM training in a transversal way in higher education for different fields and specialisations, from Architecture and Engineering to Business Management or Art. Some BIM applications include the rehabilitation of historical buildings, of artistic spaces, or the recovery of historical heritage.
University professors and department Managers and Director are aware that BIM techniques can be a very useful part of university curricula, and that students should leave with this training. BIM systems and networks create a social and collaborative environment for the academic community with regard to data flow.
The aim of this project is to redefine a new paradigm related to the training of students and professors in disciplines focusing on BIM use. The project partners will analyse how to introduce BIM knowledge within university curricula in a transversal manner vis-a-vis the labour market. The project comprises 6 partners:
- Warnborough College (UK) – Project Leader
- International Innovation from the South (Spain)
- The University of Economics and Innovation (Poland)
- ÉK Egyesület (Hungary)
- University of Patras (Greece)
- Global Contents (Spain)
A kick-off meeting was held on 22 June 2021 during which partners introduced their team members and their organisations. Initial steps for running the project were laid out, and will be defined clearly during future transnational partner meetings (TPMs).
We are very excited to work with our new partners and look forward to a fantastic collaboration in the creation of a new BIM curriculum for higher education institutions.
The project is listed on the ERASMUS+ Projects website.
