MindFULL eConference: Promoting Post-Pandemic Positive Mindsets - June 29, 2021

2020 will be remembered for many years to come as a major disruptor to the life that we once knew. One of the key areas that has been impacted has been mental health. COVID-19 changed the way we as a society functioned: from isolation to working from home to not being able to work at all (and losing income), stress, depression, and grief – the ability to cope has never been in greater need.

As vaccination programmes around the world start to increase, the prospect of a return to ‘normality’ is within seeming reach at last.

What have we learnt in the past year? How do we prepare ourselves for reintegration back into a more social life? What things have changed that may require us to change? How do we cope with it all? Hardly a day goes by where one does not see or hear the phrase the “new normal”. What about those for whom it is not possible to return to their old lifestyle (while seeing everyone else around them do)?

This conference seeks answers to some of these questions and more, and aims to look at shared experiences and practical solutions for better and healthier minds. Join experts, practitioners and other mental health stakeholders to be mindful of the challenges and ways forward.

Areas for discussion include but are not limited to:

  • Approaches to Identifying and Managing Stress
  • Survival vs Competency: Which one are you?
  • Understanding Your Locus of Control (Internal or External)
  • Managing Type A & Type B Personalities
  • Overcoming Imposter Syndrome
  • Self-Worth vs Self-Esteem
  • The Relaxation Response
  • Suicide Prevention Efforts
  • Self-care (i.e., mindfulness, deep breathing, yoga, nutrition, etc.)
  • Achieving the Right Work-Life Balance
