Look Into the World Art Exhibition

March 13 was an important day for students at Waldorf Ober und Mittelstufe (High and Middle School). It was the final exam in fine arts, under the watchful eyes of teachers Ivo Mahlknecht and Benno Simma. The students showed and discussed their theses in the form of a studio discussion in front of the school community, the examiners and the art teachers.

The venue for this examination display entitled “Look Into the World Art Exhibition” was Goethehaus. At 6pm, the host and director of the Office for Youth Work, Klaus Nothdurfter, welcomed guests. He introduced the new Goethehaus as a space for youth. The students then did short presentations about their work, before guests mingled and milled around enjoying the displays.

“The exhibition presents a wide range of topics, research and artistic ideas of the students. Among the exhibits, you will find a research project on the subject of the color blue, a sculpture in relation to electromagnetic oscillation, traditional landscape painting in the seasonal change, the color mood pattern or a treatise on frequency-shifted elements. There are no limits to their imagination”, said Mr Mahlknecht.

WOB has been a Warnborough academic partner since 2015, as we provide quality assurance and validation for WOB’s state-of-the-art curriculum. Focused on developing confidence, critical thinking, and engagement with the environment around them, WOB students learn a wide variety of disciplines.  As a result, WOB students blossom in a very non-traditional setting and often outperform students from traditional schools.  This is why we align together – a willingness to go beyond the ordinary and buck against the grain.

The exhibition is from March 13 to 28, 2019.

Congratulations to the students and to WOB for continuing to push the boundaries of creativity. We are very proud of you.
