Warnborough College President, Dr Brenden D Tempest-Mogg, has been elected to the important position of Vice-President for Europe of the International Vocational Education and Training Association (IVETA).
IVETA was founded in 1984 by a group of technical and vocational educators to facilitate the sharing of knowledge between developing and developed countries. IVETA is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) and has individual and organisational members from over 50 countries. IVETA’s current president is Ms Carmel Thompson, Warnborough alumna and Council member.
Dr Brenden is keen to increase memberships, promote professional linkages, and develop Competency-Based Learning in Europe that will enhance opportunities for mature adults involved in technical and vocational careers. Warnborough Vice-President, Dr Julian Ng, recently attended the IVETA World Conference held in Kuching, Malaysia, and found the event most rewarding as it brought together over 800 delegates from around the world – all dedicated to vocational training. You can read more about the conference here.
Dr Brenden is enthusiastic about his appointment (as are we) and is looking forward to contributing to the growth of IVETA in Europe and beyond.
