Warnborough runs IVETA 40th Conference

Warnborough stepped up at the last minute to organise IVETA’s big birthday conference in San Antonio. Texas from 4-7 December 2024. Warnborough principals, Dr Julian Ng and Dr Brenden Tempest-Mogg also hold key roles in the current IVETA governing committee as President (then) and Executive Director, respectively.

Reviewing and Reframing TVET to Improve Economic and Social Outcomes

The theme (above) was chosen to review the role of TVET and whether it remains fit for purpose in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) world, and to evaluate the social and economic impact of TVET programs (i.e. TVET’s role in increasing employment and wages, productivity, and social transformation). Warnborough has been a key advocate for the importance of TVET in today’s education and society, so the theme is close to our hearts.

As per every normal Warnborough event, the conference saw presenters from around the world, including Bangladesh, the British Virgin Islands, Germany, Malawi, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea.

We took the opportunity to organise an alumni gathering in conjunction with IVETA’s 40th anniversary reception at the Café Óle on the famous San Antonio River Walk. It was a great opportunity to meet up with students, alumni and potential students.
